Synopsis[edit]

"When a video of Bart and Homer fighting goes viral, they become social media celebrities. However, their agent, Warburton Parker, turns them into sellouts. Meanwhile, Lisa battles the school's new industrialized detention system."

Plot[edit]

At the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Homer, Lenny, and Carl are watching Anger Watkins's show on TV when he asks who's better: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, or Michael Jordan. Homer calls the show and says John Stockton, angering Watkins, who then flushes him off the screen. Lenny and Carl realize Homer doesn't know anything about sports.

At home, Marge consoles him and suggests he watch someone else instead, especially on the internet, but hints that he could start a show of his own. Meanwhile, at Springfield Elementary, Lisa inadvertently starts a food fight. When Chalmers asks who started it, Lisa claims physics did, which leads to Fizix getting the blame. However, when Principal Skinner finds out it isn't true, he gives Lisa a one-week detention.

Homer starts recording his show, Walkoff Homer. Bart watches from the doorway and, finding the show annoying, rearranges the show's letters to say "Moose Poo" with "Hmer Imsn" and begins armpit farting. When Homer turns around, they start fighting, and raccoons end up eating food in front of them.

Their video goes viral on the internet, and Warburton Parker tells them the news, prompting them to do the floss dance. Parker says he'll teach them how to make better videos and become rich through monetization. He shows them the "Smells Finger and Falls Out of Tree" video and explains how they could have made a lot of money by monetizing it. Their next video, featuring Buzz Cola, gets over 25 million views.

In detention, Lisa is enjoying herself, but Skinner informs her it will now be held at the R.O.C.C., the Remote Onsite Correctional Center. Due to budget cuts, detention is outsourced and run by Lindsey Naegle, effectively privatizing it.

Parker gives Homer his first check—$5,000—which he says will come in handy when he buys a boat. Parker also sells the next fight’s location to the restaurant where they’re eating, Utica Wild Thighs. Bart and Homer go to Moe's for a beer. When Moe refuses their money due to their fame, Homer asks for the bar to become his while Moe retreats to the sewers with "his people".

After school, even the bullies stop harassing Bart and instead escort him. Meanwhile, more kids enter detention, and Lindsey profits by having them make license plates, but the kids go on strike. When Bart and Homer are seen hugging, the internet revolts, disturbed by the contrast with the videos they’ve posted.

As the kids continue their strike, the teachers are hired to do the labor instead. Homer and Bart are informed of their failure, but Parker tells them they're making a comeback with "Mortal Kombat Live Online", hosted by Netflix. However, they can't bring themselves to fight to the death, and the video only gets one view—Maggie's. Homer returns to Walkoff Homer and invites Anger to the show, who becomes enraged when Homer tells him the show will last five hours.
